Additional Information
Not feeling any pain? You don’t need to be experiencing pain in order to greatly benefit from a chiropractic adjustment. Getting adjusted helps to remove any nerve interference or roadblocks that are prohibiting your system and body from functioning optimally. Get adjusted regularly and allow yourself to live to your fullest in body, spirit, and mind!
What is an extremity Adjustment? Extremities are our hands, wrists, elbows, shoulders, hips, knees, ankles, and feet. We use them every day and sometimes they get knocked out of place or worn down just like our back or neck does. An extremity adjustment provides mobilization and proper placement of these joints to allow for reduced pain and improved function so that we can keep doing the things we want and need to do!
What is craniosacral work? The bones around our skull and our face are supposed to move very subtly, believe it or not! Sometimes, however, they get locked up and can no longer move properly causing a variety of problems which may include headaches, allergies, sinus pressure, or lack of drainage. Allowing these structures to begin to move properly again greatly reduces pain and pressure allowing for proper draining to commence.
Note: we have a mechanism called the craniosacral pump. This pump acts to circulate cerebro-spinal fluid around our brain and our spinal cord, similar to how the heart pumps blood throughout the body. This mechanism provides necessary nutrients for proper nourishment and healing to keep our brain and spinal structures healthy. Sometimes this pump gets jammed and is not effectively circulating this fluid. Craniolsacral work is a means by which to repair this jammed pump and improve the health and function of our brain and spinal cord!
How do you adjust an infant or child? Infants and children require significantly less force than adults to accomplish a great deal of improvement. For an infant adjustment, extremely light pressure is placed on one side of the neck and on one side of the buttock as the infant wriggles to achieve the correction.. A parent or caregiver can hold the infant the entire time. An adolescent adjustment is very gentle, and is similar to an adult adjustment with significantly reduced force applied.
